Seminar Objectives: DMI's
Takeoff
& Estimating Seminars offer both employers and their employees
an opportunity to improve their daily work habits. Attendees
learn methods and techniques to produce accurate bids with top
efficiency. Most attendees simultaneously increase both
their speed and their accuracy.
Plan Reading: This
optional step precedes Beginner Level Seminars. Plan Reading
is intended for those who need to gain proficiency in their ability
to interpret plans and other bid documents. In addition
to the basics, Plan Reading covers various architects' methods
of linking the individual drawings together into a coherent set
of plans.
Takeoff: The most
important aspect of the bidding process is the takeoff. The thorough
yet high-speed methods learned in DMI Seminars enable estimators
of all levels to attain significantly better takeoff proficiency.
In addition to the basics, DMI Seminars examine the most accurate
and efficient methods of presenting takeoff information clearly,
facilitating quick review by co-workers.
Estimating: DMI
Seminars teach estimating techniques that enable fast, accurate
pricing for even the most complicated conditions found on any
plans. In addition to the basics, DMI seminars examine the
most cost-effective methods of combining the utility of unit prices
with the component detail required to facilitate project management.
Materials: Those
attending
class will receive a booklet containing an outline of the objectives
covered in the course, and other related information including
Mike Litz's "Guide to Successful Estimating."
Knowledge
Levels: Each seminar attendee
is placed into a group based on the individual's current knowledge
level. All seminars are geared for optimal learning in minimal
time.
