California, the most inhabited state, accommodates more residents than six average states combined. By contrast, New Jersey's population, only fractionally greater than average, still ranks 10th nationally.

Minnesota, most inhabited of the ten median states, accommodates fewer residents than the average state. Iowa's population, about half of average, ranks 30th.

Hawaii, most inhabited of the ten least populated states, accommodates less than one quarter of the average state's population. The combined population of all ten least populated states falls slightly short of New Jersey's population.

Ranked 17th, Arizona comes closest to hitting the average mark for state population. Tennessee, and Missouri also come very close to hitting the mark of average.

The top nine states account for more than half of the U.S. population; thus, 41 states share less than half the population of the U.S.A.
In addition to a few foreign customers, DMI customers headquarter operations in each of the 22 most populated states. DMI customers conduct business in most states, including Hawaii and four other states ranked in the ten least populated category.
